Don't Give Up! Come Inside To Get Breastfeeding Advice
Being a new mom is never easy
Being a new mom is never easy. To decide whether to breastfeed or not is again, not easy and sometimes when it gets tough (and in most cases it does), you may regret your decision. This short article is meant to give you some useful breastfeeding advice to help you through the difficult times you may be experiencing with your breastfeeding.
One of the biggest problems about breastfeeding is that you can never be sure how much your baby eats. I still wait for someone to come up with a special nipple that can measure the milk quantity that comes out of our bodies"
But until that happens, the first breastfeeding advice I can give you is this: you can always count on the fact that your baby will let you know if he/she is still hungry. You see, when a baby is hungry, it is physically painful for him. Therefore, most chances are that if he keeps crying, cannot fall asleep or seems edgy, he/she probably did not have enough milk and they need to get some more. On the other hand, if after a breastfeeding meal they seem relaxed, smiling and communicative, they probably had enough.
And on to my next breastfeeding advice: Since breastfeeding itself is hard enough, you want to make your surrounding area as comfortable and pleasant as you can. This means selecting a nursing pillow that would suit you the most, perhaps some music which you find relaxing, and of course, and maybe the important of all, the one position of the several breastfeeding positions there exist that would be the most effective for you and your baby.
Another important breastfeeding advice would be holding and raising your breast a bit while breastfeeding. In case you have a large breast this is most important since you do not want to accidently block your baby's nostrils with your breast.
Finally, you may not know this but there are many breastfeeding consultants out there who would be happy to come to your home and assist you with your breastfeeding and give you some more breastfeeding advice.
Oh, and one more thing" Know that most new mothers experience the exact same difficulties that you are. So when it gets hard and your baby seems to never let go of your breast and you are so tired, do not get discouraged and try to be comforted by the fact that your baby is getting the best milk you could possibly provide him/her with, and after all, what can be more important than your little one's health, right"?
