, and outdoor lights are an important installation not only for safety, but to allow users to enjoy the space throughout the year.

Some offices and similar businesses may incorporate a small garden or similar outdoor space for staff to enjoy during their break and lunchtimes, perhaps for eating, reading, or smoking breaks. Using outdoor lights in these areas is essential to ensure that staff have a good level of visibility, particularly during the winter months when morning and late afternoons can be especially dark.

Outdoor lights are absolutely essential for outdoor areas that are used by customers, perhaps in a restaurant, pub or bar. With the spring and summer seasons approaching, many businesses of this type should assess their current outdoor lights and replace any items that do not work. Customers love to eat and drink outside when the weather is warm, and good outdoor lights can encourage them to stay on even after the sun has set.

The best way to do this is to use outdoor lights to create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere in any garden or similar space. Gentle lighting is good, as harsh lights can be quite wearing and do not encourage relaxation! Soft lights such as small individual lamps placed at intervals along pathways and at the edges of flower beds or other aspects of the garden can look great, and will serve the double purpose of creating a relaxed atmosphere, whilst also guiding guests around the area safely. For customers who are not familiar with the outdoor space, it can sometimes be tricky to navigate paths in the dark. It is a good idea to ensure that these are adequately lit, to avoid any trips or falls.

Another great way to create a special atmosphere is by using small fairy lights or lanterns. These generally feel special when used outside of the holiday season, and can give a relaxed party feel to any area. They look particularly pretty when strung through trees and around buildings, and it may be appropriate to have either multicoloured lights or a simple plain white bulb. These can be teamed with comfortable seating such as large cushions and bean bags, to create an almost tropical feel! Coloured lanterns are great for creating a holiday atmosphere also, and are a good addition to a patio or deck.

Whilst the weather is getting warmer, some evenings can still be a little chilly, even in the middle of summer. Patio heaters are a great way to combat this occasional chill, and they can also provide a small amount of light. Open fires and similar installations should be placed in safe locations away from trees, trailing vines and young guests, but can look very dramatic after dark. This is a good way to provide both light and a little heat, and will instantly create a cosy atmosphere in any outdoor space. This is crucial for any business to encourage guests to feel comfortable to remain outside and continue to enjoy themselves.
