Dont Let Your Timeshare Leave You Open To Fraud
Throughout the past several years, many consumers have made the decision to purchase timeshares
. Unfortunately, due to economic recession and overwhelming amounts of consumers that are unhappy about their timeshare property purchase, many Americans are looking to get rid of their timeshares. The first thing that a consumer thinks when trying to get rid of a timeshare property is, sell it! However, because there is such a demand for the sale of timeshare properties, there is also a few dangerous aspects when it comes to attempting to sell timeshares.
The world we live in is full of fraudsters that are out there to find a way to victimize the honest Americans. Unfortunately, when there is a high demand for a product or service, it's not long these days before fraudsters and scam artists start coming up with ways to scam consumers! This is no different with selling timeshares. Throughout the past few years, many fraudulent companies have popped up selling the service of selling timeshare properties. However, these companies aren't selling timeshares at all!
What happens is the fraudulent companies will make a phone call to consumers. Once consumers are on the line, the scam artists will pitch dreams hoping that some of these Americans will bight on. Making astonishing promises like I can get rid of your timeshare in less than a month and You stand to make a good profit, these fraudulent companies entice Americans into sending them thousands of dollars. They promise that after the cash is paid, they will be able to link the people with the buyer that has all of this cash for them.
Sadly, many consumers fall victim to this process and decide to send thousands of dollars to fraudulent companies. The promises seem so great and it is hard to say no. Also, there's gotta be some good companies out there right? Well, of course there are good companies out there. The last thing I want to do is scare people away from purchasing anything over the phone. However, the point of this article is to arm people with the knowledge to protect themselves. With that said, if consumers ever get a call like this they should:
Start the call by getting the agents information: This is important, get the name and phone number of the agent as well as the company they work for. Consumers will need this because making an educated decision takes some time to think. That means that Americans should never buy a service or product over the phone on the first call! If consumers find that they are interested after adequate time to think, they will have the information they need to move forward!
Do some research: Consumers should never purchase anything over the phone without doing a bit of research. The good news is that for Americans to adequately research a company really only takes about a half hour. Simply go to www.BBB.org. Type in the company name and read a few reports. Next, go to www.Google.com and do the same. This should give consumers all they need to be able to make an educated decision!
