Diwali is coming to town. The night that creates unfading memories is within the sight now. So, have you started shopping for Diwali yet. If not get going bro. Like all Indians, Diwali means the whole world to me. I have a reputation of being a surly guy but on a Diwali night you can hardly recognize me. I get mirthful and easy going, kids who never dare to show up at my door find my behaviour very confusing. The man who usually screams at the top of his lungs turns into a scary nice person. I can fathom their plight. They cant get their young heads around this strange phenomenon. After all they are kids. Whereas, the older lot of my neighborhood greet this sudden surge of inner happiness with a scorn. I dont blame them, they are after all so called sane grown-ups. I can justify my behaviour. You see the whole country changes on this night and so do I. The change that occurs in others is termed as normal but for some reason the change that takes place in me remains an indescribable event.

Even a guy like me feels the excitement that floats in the air. Unlike others, I prefer using my computer for shopping. This pragmatic decision of mine has its benefits too. If I am shopping online, I can avoid the painful hours of reflecting on my thoughts. I learnt my lesson during the festive season of 2009. Oh! thats was a terrible day. Cars were standing cheek by jowl in a traffic jam and I was stuck in the vicious circle of my thoughts. On that very day, I vowed to avoid such a situation at any cost.

People make new year resolutions. I have decided that I would act differently and frame a Diwali resolution. This Diwali I have to go for some rapid public relation exercise. An exercise that will reward me with a new image. I got to be more flexible and accommodating. Need to gain some expertise in the art of small talk.
