. Do yourself a huge favor and don't put it off, don't worry about money later! Save now to retire with enough funds to live the way you want to live in retirement.

When most of us think of retirement we dream of doing the things we love all day. Whether that includes traveling, spending your days with your family, or playing golf-you'll need the funds to make those things possible. So, unless your dreams include working for the rest of your life, you'll need to save now to make tomorrow possible.

That doesn't mean you can't live your life today, too, it just means you need to budget well.

One of the most common, and simple, ways to save for your dream retirement is the 401k plan offered by your employer. The money you invest in this account is invested in a variety of ways (stocks, bonds, money market accounts, etc) to earn you returns over the years to build you up a healthy nest egg. Many employers also offer to match part of your contributions, meaning they'll they'll contribute a specific amount of money (as long as you do first) to help you save. It's usually just a small amount, around 1-6% of your income, but over the years this amount really adds up.

If that option doesn't work for you, don't worry! There are other ways to save.

Another popular option is to open up an IRA (independent retirement account). You handle these accounts yourself, you set them up with a company of your choosing (many banks offer them) and they're very similar to the 401k plan I mentioned above. Your money is invested in a variety of ways, stocks bonds, etc, and earns you returns over the years.

You can also go out and invest and save (through savings accounts, stocks, etc) all on your own outside of these retirement vehicles. The possibilities are endless. The most important thing is that you're putting something away--anything is better than nothing, really--for the retirement you dream of living.
