Double Awards For The Citroen Ds3

The DS3 is a supermini produced by Citroen since 2009

, DS stands for Different Spirit and the DS3 is the first of this range from Citroen. On its release Citroen explained that the new DS range has no common feature nor is the successor to the historical Citroen DS model.

The DS3 was the first car to have product placement in a British music video, it features in Pixie Lotts song Broken Arrow. Recently TopGear magazine has named the DS3 as its Small Car of the Year as well as the coveted Car of the Year title; these awards were published in the magazines 2010 awards. Competing for these awards along with the DS3 were super car manufacturers as well as main stream manufacturers such as Honda, Bugatti, Jaguar, VW, Audi and Bentley.

TopGear spokesperson commented, "DS3 has pulled off that heady mix of ability, excitement and affordability that's impossible to ignore. It walks so many fine lines so delicately and so comprehensively that it's hard to find a chink in the armour. The TopGear Car of the Year is a small, thoughtful, affordable, stylish, fun little hatchback. It's the people's champion.

In response to the awards Linda Jackson who is the Citroen UKs Managing Director said, "Considering the fierce competition, it is a fantastic achievement for DS3 to win the top accolade. DS3 has enjoyed a fantastic first year, winning the hearts and minds of both public and press. In just under 12 months on the road it's become the 'must-have' model in its class."

Citroen isnt done with the DS3 models yet, a new DS3 Racing model is due to hit dealers such as the Citroen dealer Blackpool in the New Year, and it is expected to be Citroens street legal version of their new rally car. The 0-62mph figure for the DS3 Racing is 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 146mph.
