Douse the Fire Using Advanced Fire Extinguishing Systems

With the advancement in technology, the fire extinguishing systems are also advancing with time. There are the simple fire extinguishers that can be operated manually to the fire sprinkler systems that are completely automated. Their main aim is to protect lives and property.

Given below are the main fire systems that help in extinguishing fire:

Fire Sprinkler System: These systems are used in large areas. They are connected to the ceiling. They have a fire detecting mechanism that helps in detecting fire upto a particular temperature. Once that temperature level is reached, water under high pressure automatically starts flowing in order to extinguish the fire. Some of the common sprinkler systems are:

Wet pipe system: These are the most simple and the most common fire fighting systems used. It is made up of pipes and sprinklers. Water flows through the pipes and through the sprinklers over the fire, once it is detected by heat sensitive elements present in the system.

Dry pipe system: This system is used in areas with very cold temperatures like cold storages, where the water in the pipe could freeze because of the outside temperature. So at first there is only air in the pipes. Once the fire is detected, the sprinklers open and all the air flows out. Once the pipe is emptied of the air, only then does the water flows through the sprinklers over the fire.

Deluge system: In this system again there is no water in the pipes at the outset. There is a deluge valve used for water connection. This has to be opened on the signal of a fireman when the fire is detected using smoke or flame detectors.

Foam water sprinkler system: This system used is a mixture of water and foam and hence when a fire is detected the sprinkle gives out a foam discharge. These are installed and operated in places which are prone to high challenge fire fighting.

Gaseous fire fighting system: This system uses inert gases and other chemicals to fight fire. Its main components are the chemical used, a container, valves, fire detection system, pipes which deliver the chemical and dispersion nozzles. These can be applied to the entire room or only the part where the fire has erupted.

These are the various ways in which you can extinguish fire before it extinguishes your property and human lives.
