Because of this, many of the original fans of the game have drifted and the series had quite lost the impact it once had. Many fans would probably consider Clash of Heroes to be another of the spinoffs seeing as it has taken the step from serious RPG to a puzzle RPG. Might and magic Clash of Heroes drops the player into a fantasy land filled with Necromancers, elves and other well known fantasy characters. The game consists of chapters and for each chapter you take control of a different character. You move about using the stylus to travel to various locations across the world map. Along the way you do all the usual things like crack open chests, chat to other characters and of course, battle. Battles are fought with two armies lining up across both of the DS's screens. You must then arrange your army so that you have units of the same colour in a line. The battles in Might and Magic Clash of Heroes are really quite challenging. The feeling of satisfaction you get when you win makes them pretty exciting.Alongside the regular battles there are also puzzle battles in the form of brain teasers. Some of them are pretty decent too. Another thing I like about the game are the characters. Yes, I know they are generic fantasy characters however they are written in an amusing and witty way. The cut scenes and animation is also some of the most catching Ive seen on the DS. On the negative side though, I did find that this game got a little repetitive. Because you start each level with a new character I did feel the game play got a little tired. Each level starts with the same types of units and you need to build up your power and weapons again. You eventually build yourself up again and begin to have some fun when all of a sudden you beat the boss and "BAM!" your back at the beginning of the next level with no powers again and have to do it all again. Overall the game design in Might and Magic Clash of Heroes is good and it's a very cute game for sure, however some game play balancing with the offensive/defensive spells and the kinds of items in particular levels. Those of you who are easily frustrated will find this game to be a thorn in your side while the hardcore gamer out there will probably forgive it for its flaws and get stuck right into it. As for the old school Might and Magic fans, well don't get too upset as this game bears little resemblance to the originals that you fell in love with. If you approach this with the mindset that it is a brand new game then you will get more from it.About the Author:
