Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Contributes Towards Socio-economic Development Of Country

Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta is an honorable and a respected Indian politician having vast

experience and exposure in the Indian political system. He has held key positions and has been fundamental in serving as a Member of both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. He was elected as Mayor of Lucknow in the year 1993 and was recognized as one of the youngest Mayors of the World. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in November, 1996 and has since been re-elected for the period November, 2002 to November, 2008. He was re-elected to Rajya Sabha for the third time consecutively in November 2008. He has also carried out his duties eminently a Minister of State in the Central Government with the Department of Steel from the year 2006 to 2008.

Dr. Gupta is also the Founder Chairman of Babu Banarasi National Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow; Northern India Engineering College, Lucknow; Uttar Pradesh Dental College & Research Centre, Lucknow; Northern India Engineering College, New Delhi; BBD Institute of Mass Communications, Lucknow; Babu Banarasi Das International Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow; Babu Banarasi Das College of Higher Education, Lucknow; Babu Banarasi Das Medical College, Lucknow; BBD Northern India Institute of Technology, New Delhi and BBD Northern India College of Pharmacy, New Delhi which impart technical and professional education.

A reputed educationist, Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta has held important academic positions in his career. He was professor in Northern India Engineering College, Lucknow from 1999 to 2003. He is a Visiting Professor (Business Management and Public Relations) at HR Institute of Technology since the year 2008. He has also held the position of an honorary technical consultant at Infinite Computer Solution Inc. from the year 2002 to 2006. He has infused transformation in the under developed cities and towns of the country for a progressive and a happy India. .
