Since the big freeze has taken over most of the Uk over the last few days everywhere you look people are buying all the provisions they can get can you really live off bread and milk for a week? Do you really need 6 kilos of cooking salt? How scary would it be if this snow did get worse!!!
Though we are experiencing the coldest and earliest winter for over 70 years, so many people seem to have forgotten how to survive and just carry on. Just because there is a sprinkling of snow on the ground, with black ice, doesn't mean you need to stop going to work, going to the gym in Newport, going out with friends it just means you need to drive more carefully, and plan your journey a little longer.
As I was driving to the gym in Cardiff this week, it took me a good extra couple of minutes to negotiate the roads (and abandoned cars) it was very hair raising in parts and very slippery in others, but ultimately got to work out as planned. The number of people who either thought it best to drive at snail pace or better to abandon their cars and walk surprised me! We only have about half an inch of snow this is not life stopping. How would they manage to carry out day to day chores in snowier climates?!
Until I physically cannot get the wheels on my car rolling I will continue to go to the gym in Newport and continue training.
