Dry Erase Board: Advantages And Disadvantages On The Use Of Whiteboard

It used to be when classrooms, meeting halls and conference rooms make use of blackboards

or chalkboards as part of their helpful tools in holding classes or meetings. Nowadays, we have witnessed how technology brought schools, companies and just about anywhere else that far with the introduction of dry erase boards in those classes and meetings.

Are you wondering what a dry-erase board looks like? You may have already seen it, although you probably didn't know that it is called what it is today. Other familiar terms or synonyms are whiteboard, wipeboard or marker board.

How did schools start using whiteboards? Why were these preferred over blackboards? Well, these all started back in the nineties when there were issues about chalk dusts triggering the asthma in some students. At present, there are already further updates about the use of interactive whiteboards being beneficial to the students in their pursuit of knowledge at school; however, that is not what we'll talk about here.

The Advantages:

1. When it comes to presentation, the look of classrooms and offices with whiteboards in place instead of the traditional blackboards are really neat and awesome.

2. What you have written from a whiteboard can be easily erased. Just do not forget to use the prescribed dry erase whiteboard marker. It's also easy to wipe the writings off even with a tissue or a cloth. (Giveaway tip: You can also pour some alcohol on the tissue or cloth to wipe off with even cleaner results.)

3. A dry erase marker board would really make an excellent visual aid. One can even use different colors of markers for better visibility and attention. These dry-erase markers are refillable, by the way.

4. This marker board can also be used as an excellent screen if you want to do a formal presentation via projector.

The Disadvantages:

1. The dry erase marker board and marker are usually more expensive than chalkboards and chalks; but with all the benefits from using them, it may well be worth it, anyway.

2. Some cannot see better through the marker board if the one writing on it does not know how to effectively use the marker on the dry erase whiteboard correctly.

3. It may take somewhat a little to messy to do a refill of the marker especially if you lack the knowledge on how to do them really well.
