Located in the western suburbs of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, Du Fu constructed and lived in a hut where he penned over 200 poems during the Tang dynasty. Listed by the Chinese Government as a National Heritage site, it is a popular venue for those wishing to pay homage to the great poet.

Over the years, Du Fu's Thatched Cottage has seen repeated renovations taking place. Today it houses both a museum, pavilions, bridges and a traditional garden. Landscaped gardens, clear streams and classical architecture offer visitors a tranquil repose to appreciate this great Asian bard. Visitors are able to view exhibits of the poets life including his work. Works and images of other prominent writers are also displayed at the site.
