Durban Hosts South African Womens Arts Festival This Summer Vacation!

. This is an annual event holds in Durban every year. This years festival is holding Play House in Durban from Friday 30 July to Sunday 8 August 2010. This event is organized by the Southern Africa Theatre Initiatives. Many people take Durban flights to attend this event that is celebrated to highlight the womens role in the development, unity, and transformation of South Africa, and also to highlight gender disparities in the industry. Although it was started on a small scale but now has become one of the South Africas largest festivals. Those attending this festival get a chance to watch and discuss several plays. People take cheap South Africa flights to attend this event paying tribute to African women who exhibited leadership qualities for making a difference in the world.

This festival features a combination of music, dance, drama and comedy. It offers many programs to entertain audiences e.g. a spectacular dance drama that features a cast of over 40 dancers, named as Sunghursh. It is very popular among visitors taking flights to Durban with flights to Durban Open Mic Dialogue and Poetry Session is also a part of this program. An exhibition highlighting the work of South African women in various art media also run in the Grand Foyer. This is a unique festival of its kind specifically dedicated to women, and recognizing their brilliance and accomplishments. This years celebrities and performers include; Vicky Vilakazi, Silindile Ntini, Aveline Twala, Amo Chidi, Nompumelelo Nhlapho, Londiwe Mthembu, Mulalo Mudau, Lucia Gumede, Mercy Meruti and Nomasonto Khumalo. Although it is a tribute event but it is not without laughters. A huge variety of comedy shows will be presented during days of the fair by popular comedians including; best-loved comedians, television personalities and DJ's.

A thirty minute puppetry show is one of the most entertaining parts of the event. Early ticket booking is advised as it is not easy to get tickets closer the time of show. All types of audience those liking poetry; music, comedy and drama, and performance art will be taking flights to Durban from UK and other destinations to join this event.
