DVD wallets are a way to store your movies, software

, and music disks in a more compact manner at home and on the road. They can hold more of your disks than a single movie case is able to store in about the same space. The number of disks that they can safely store without damage depends on the size of the wallet that is chosen.

Many of the higher capacity cases are made in a briefcase style and can hold upwards of 520 disks. Smaller sizes are sometimes shaped similar to a traditional DVD case and are able to hold 6 to 10 disks. Sleeves specially designed for the storage of a disk is what allows these seemingly tiny cases to reach the capacity they do.

The kinds of sleeves that can be put inside of these wallets will vary to accommodate the items besides disks that will be stored as well. Some have pockets for the holding of the pages of notes that are often included with the movie that is purchased. Sets of two disks, the movie and bonus features, can also be accommodated as there are pages designed for that contingency also.

The variety of colors the DVD cases come in are almost endless. Thus there is a case to fit almost any preference. For example black (one of the most popular choices), blue, lime, green, and pink are just a few of the colors that are available.

In some of these cases the pages containing the disks can be removed. Allowing easier access to the contents of the sleeves and an ability to rearrange the order the disks are stored in if necessary. This feature also makes it simpler for a friend to borrow a movie. If your movie collection expands then it is a simple thing to add pages to hold the additional pieces.

A collector of movies can easily catalog her, or his, movie collection by using DVD wallets in just a fraction of the shelving space needed for a more traditional method. An added bonus is that a music and software collection can be stored in a similar way.
