Q. Is Great Plains available worldwide and translated to major languages such as Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese?

A. We understand your decision making process. However we have been on Brazilian ERP consulting market since 2005. If you are Microsoft shop then think about AX or NAV. GP is not localized there and you should expect issues with SPED and tax rates and formulas

Q. How consolidated financial reporting is produced from GP? Does it require GL transactions consolidation in Consolidated company?

A. GL entries consolidation is not required. Traditionally P&L and Balance were produced in FRx where Reporting Tree allows link GL from several companies. Currently similar functionality is in Microsoft Management Reporter. Both tools handle multicurrency. If you have branch where accounting system is different good idea is to import General Ledger entries from their into GP company. It should not be too complex if you deploy Integration Manager

Q. We plan Great Plains for our subsidiary in Argentina. Local consultants are ready to help but we are not sure about it as implementing from scratches might introduce complexity in reporting, etc.

A. Good points. We would recommend design template company where you have Chart of Accounts. Invite Argentinian consultant to deal just with localization and have you partner in US coordinate the project. We would also recommend hosting all databases on your SQL Server in headquarters
