ENCOURAGING WORDS FOR STRUGGLING ENTREPRENEURS
I was sitting at a stoplight one day. There was this homeless guy standing on the corner holding up a sign for everyone to see. I was so far back that I could not read the sign, but I noticed that just about every car that passed was giving him money. This I thought was strange. Most of the people I have been around try everything in their power to avoid being seen or spotted by a homeless person. When they are asked to give money, they come up with some excuse to keep from having to dip into their wallet. Yet this guy has everyone giving him money.
As the light turned green and I got closer to the stoplight, I was able to read the guys sign. What I read made me laugh, but at the same time brought the reality of why everyone was handing him money. His sign was simple and to the point. It read "WHY LIE, I NEED BEER"
Reading that sign made me realize something. You may not agree with the truth, but it's worthy of respect. I don't really think that any of the people driving by the homeless guy agreed with his drinking problem. I do believe however that the honesty bought him the respect of just about everyone that drove by him.
Getting what you want means being real with yourself
You want to be successful as an entrepreneur. Who doesn't? When you get your first taste of the "what is possible" you can barely contain yourself. You are filled with excitement and you are anxious to start making money. But over time the excitement wears off and you begin to become overwhelmed with the facts. No money and no results equals frustration. It can seem really tough to stay the course and continue working a system that is not working for you at that moment. I guarantee the homeless man tried a number of different signs before he found one that worked for him. Amazingly, the one that worked was also the one that was the most honest.
So here is a dose of honesty
If you are going to be successful as an entrepreneur, you have to set yourself up in a position that will allow you to be successful over the long haul. To many people get into this business of marketing online or starting a brick and mortar business and one of two things happen. They do not see success right away so they give up to quickly. Or they see quick success and the moment they fall into their first slump, they can't figure out why. So they give up. If you want to be successful then you have to have a game plan. You can not set out to get rich quickly. It just doesn't happen. If it did, don't you think everyone would be doing it? you want to do this long term and be successful over the long haul. Right? So think long term. Make realistic goals.
Are you ready to run a marathon
Ok, here is the game plan. You must look at this as an adventure. You thought it would be fun so keep that thought in mind as you begin to set the wheels in motion.
Next, work backwards. I know it seems weird but believe me it works. Where do you want to be in life? How much time do you think it will take you to get there? You want to be realistic here. It would be crazy to say you want to be a millionaire tomorrow when you haven't done anything yet to get there.
Now you have a goal and a time frame. Now you must figure out what you will need to do every week to reach that goal. How many leads does it take to get one sale? How many sales do you need to get every week to reach your ultimate goal? Now you have how many leads you need every week, how many sales you need, a time limit, and an ultimate goal.
As you can see, working backwards is not such a bad idea is it. How can you get where you are going if you don't have a road map to take you to YOUR destination. Of course you would want to break this down even further on your own. What does it take to get leads? articles, Banner advertising, email blast etc.
This gives you an idea of what you need to do every week to reach your ultimate goal.
Now it's time to earn respect
Once you have your goals established and you know how long it's going to take you to get there, get to work. The more work you do online like article writing, Blogging, Social media etc. the more you will be picked up by the search engines. The more you are noticed and picked up by the search engines, the more of an online presence you have online. The more online presence you have, the more you look like an authority in your field of experts. As you can see, Its not something that happens overnight. You have to be willing to put the work in to obtain the results you are searching for. If you do not have the patience or the time, then this is not the business for you. For the ones that are willing to do whatever it takes to make it in this industry. You will be the ones that succeed above everyone else.

One more thing to remember. Becoming an internet marketer is not always about selling. If I spoke to someone and all they were interested in was selling me their lotions and potions, I would lose interest real quick. I want to talk with someone who can deliver value and so do you. If that is what you are looking for, then why would you be any different with anyone else. Remember the old saying, "treat others the way you would like to be treated" If you can live by that motto, then only good things can happen in your future.
