Tinnitus is a condition that affects more than 50 million people worldwide. So you are not alone. It's a very real condition. Although you are the only one that can hear the ringing, you are not crazy, it's there. There are several causes of tinnitus, so we can focus on a couple of things that will explain how you got it. 3. Atherosclerosis - Huh? What? It's basically the build up of cholesterol. As you are going to find out cholesterol builds up not only in the arteries around your heart. It can also build up in other areas of your body, namely in your head, near your ears.

So there you have it. Three of the main reasons that might have caused your tinnitus. Now that you know some of the reasons behind this ringing in your ears, you now need to know what steps you can take to get rid of it.
