The whole world was shocked about the recent earthquake in Chile that reached to 8.8 magnintude. Before we tackle on this issue, let us first know how earthquake occurs. Also known as tremor or temblor, earthquake is a seismic wave created from the sudden release of the Earth's energy. Most of the countries that experience earthquake are the ones located in the Pacific Ring of Fire including Chile. Because of this, a tremor is experienced more often than other countries do.

The disastrous 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile brought thousands of deaths. By far, this tremor was recorded as the Largest Earthquake in the world. It did not only affect Chile but it also brought tsunamis to neighboring countries like Japan, Philippines and Hawaii. The world's economy was also brought into an alarming lost of over $550 million of properties and firms. Because of this, Chile had to start all over again and make up for the country's lost. It did not only brought tears to affected families but also brought mourning to the whole world. Earthquake in Chile is one of the occurances that should not be forgotten because it only reminds us how short life is.

Knowing what to do during an earthquake is the best thing that you can count on just in case a tremor occurs. If you are indside your house, go outside and look for wide and open spaces that you can stay on to avoid falling debris. Do not go near trees, posts or any buildings that might collapse during an earthquake. If you are inside the building and in no way to go out, hide under the desks to prevent lights and other things to fall on your head. More importantly, make sure that you are looking for weather and earthquake updates to give you warnings before a tremor could occur. The earthquake in Chile should serve as a warning for us, not a big news that we should enjoy watching.
