Easy And Cheap Christmas Decorations Ideas

In our family tradition, Christmas decoration has always been a family affair

. Yet, Christmas decorations can be expensive if you do not plan ahead. Through the years, we have worked out an inexpensive but fun way to decorate our home and yard.

Most of the items suggested here can be bought at any local Dollar store, such as Walmart or even yard sale. Each year, add a few new items and stash them for the coming year.

Here are some cheap Christmas decorating ideas for you. to make your home special for Christmas:

1. Create a warm Christmas atmostphere by adding a few drops of pure aromatic oils in water in a petite electric crock. This will last for hours and your home will always smell great! Cinnamon, pine, mint are great smelling fragrances. One small bottle can last you for years!

2. Pick up some new holiday dinnerware and serving pieces to use at your meals. At lunchtime, you can use Christmas theme napkins and paper plates. Stick a Christmas napkin in their lunch sacks.

3. Candles are an essential item during Christmas. Get your kids to make candle holders with used baby food jars. Put in small pieces of tissue paper dipped in liquid starch and then sprinkle with glitter. When these are dried, put in the tea candle. Great homemade candles and a great way to keep the kids busy.

4. Wreaths and ribbons can be used throughout your house to add a decorative touch. Put a wreath on each door. You can buy plain wreaths at the crafts stores or stores listed above and let the kids decorate them with artificial berries and fruit, little pine cones and "pretend" wrapped gifts, and bows.

5. Place Christmas colored ribbons and bows around your home. These are easily available and very inexpensive. Tie them around a poinsettia plant, candlesticks, doorknobs, and even your dining tables and chairs.

6. Buy some 3"x5" plain index cards and some Christmas stickers. Cut the cards in half and glue several stickers on the card, with each person's name written in gold glitter ink. Glue a small ribbon on each card and use them as place settings at the table.
