Easy Breaking Up Advice That Leaves Both Of You Feeling Good And Ready To Move On

A breakup is often hard to do, even when the decision to do so is easy. Sometimes we just need some easy breaking up advice so we can get done what needs to be done and not prolong the relationship simply because we do not know how to end it.

That can lead to acting like a jerk about it simply because we are frustrated with our own inability to face reality, face the other person and do what we need to do. Humans like to avoid difficult conversations.

Handling a breakup with class, though, not only leads to a better reputation for yourself but it also leaves both of you in a better position to accept what has happened and move on.

With that in mind, here is some easy breaking up advice that should help you:

First, make sure this is the right decision. We all make mistakes, sometimes act hastily and often wake up the next morning regretting what we said or did the night before. Do not breakup on a whim, you are potentially messing up your life and theirs; think it through well first.

Second, do not take too much time. This is not a long drawn out process. You do not want to hurt their feelings or get into a debate about who said what, did what or was at fault. It just needs to end so you both can move on in life.

Third, be prepared. Know what you are going to say and why you are going to say it. Remember that he or she will probably want to talk too, and there may or may not be tears. Do not give in to anger and do not let them talk you out of it.

Fourth, this needs to be done in person. This is not a texting event, email or even a phone call. You spent time with this person, shared emotionally and who knows what else. Unless there is potential for physical harm, they deserve to hear it from you face to face.

Fifth, do not leave any loose ends hanging. If you have actually lived together or own things together then make sure you are not leaving them in the lurch. Do you owe money, did they kick out a paying roommate to make room for you? Do the right thing.

Sixth, breakup with style and dignity. This is as much about you as them. If you cannot breakup in a respectable manner then why should anyone trust their emotions to you again. There is no point in anger or vengeance of any kind, you both just need to move on.

Not everyone takes breaking up advice the way it is meant. I certainly am not encouraging you to breakup, that is a decision for you to think out well in advance.

The goal is to leave both of you in a positive position for your next romance and relationship and carry forward as little "baggage" from this one as possible. Following the advice above can help make that happen.

Should you decide you would rather save the relationship, we can help there to. But if easy breaking up advice is what you need then we are here for you that way too.
