Steps to Make Perfume at Home

1.Before beginning with the process of perfume making, you need to identify the fragrance you desire to create. If you have a favorite note then making the choice would not be difficult. And if not then open all your perfume bottles to find the fragrance you wish to re-create at home.

2.Once you are done with the identification, pick essential oils from the same family. While buying essential oils, please ensure that they blend well instead of competing with each other. This is the most crucial step in perfume-making and thus should be carried out carefully.

3.When you buy Ralph Lauren or any other perfume, you may have noticed that there are three notes, viz., high, medium and low. Decide which fragrance should be put in which category and the concentration would vary accordingly. Always remember that the concentration decreases from high to low note.

4.To ensure that all the three essential oils blend well, carrier oil should be used. Generally, jojoba oil is used as a carrier but you are free to choose other types of oil as well.

5.Once the mixture is ready, keep it in an air-tight container for two weeks. Do not expose the bottle to direct sunlight.

After two weeks, the perfume is ready to be used. In the first go you may not be able to get a perfect scent but with time you would get better at the process. Lastly, we would just like to mention that home-made perfumes cannot be compared to branded perfumes available in the market.
