For making barrel curls always start by shampooing your hair and then use a leave

in conditioner which will protect your hair from damage caused by heat. After that dry your hair with a blow dryer and detangle your hair through brushing. After all this get ready to create barrel curls.

Barrel curls are of a type which can be made by using simple roller sets and even with curling iron, whichever you use; you will get the same results in same time. Before starting, divide up a panel of hair towards the right side before the ear. The panel is created to be a bit narrower than the length of the curling iron barrel. After that you will be required to distribute the panel into segments, make sure that the segments should be as thick as your curling iron and clip them. Start curling with the bottommost segment and comb your hair to make them free of tangles and mist your hair with a hairspray or any wax based product.

At this point hold the curling iron in your hand and introduce the segment of hair in between the barrel and clamp of the iron make sure that you cover all the hair of a segment and slide it downwards till the ends of the hair. Then turn on the iron and roll the hair against the barrel and maintain a distance from the scalp. Flat laid comb can also be used to prevent the scalp from the burning heat of iron. Hold the iron on one place for few seconds until the heat is not penetrated through the hair and then carefully release the hair from iron. Let the barrel curls to cool down and then you would be able to comb, brush and get amazing styles according to your desires.

It would be always better to check your curling iron if you are not certain about its temperature. For that moisten a piece of tissue with water, which should be damp not wet. Place the tissue between the barrel of the iron and see that little steam should be evolved, but if a smoke is produced then adjust the temperature of curling iron to prevent your hair from burning.
