This is exactly the sort of rate you should aim for, as losing weight too fast will only serve to shock your body and result in physical damage. Between two and four pounds a month is a safe rate of weight loss.

Dieting

Cut down on the fatty junk foods and ice cream. A little bit of sugar occasionally is good and even important if you're working out hard, but too much will only make it easier to gain weight and some fats are more difficult than others to burn off. Add salads and vegetables to your meals and try to stay around the recommended daily calorie intake, which is 2000 for women, 2500 for men. Chopping a couple of hundred off for dieting purposes is fine, though keep in mind exercise will also shed a few calories off.
