Ebay - Deciding If To Go Part Time Or Full Time?
Building aliving full time with eBay is lot's of good folks ambitions
, being your own boss, working from home, lots of time to spend with your family and friends etc. There are thousands upon thousands of folk that have made it big on Ebay, but it can take a huge amount of hard labour to get upto that stage.
Before you dive in with both feet I would strongly suggest researching it part time to begin with and with great caution. We have compiled 5 questions that you should examine preceding making Ebay your full time job.
#1. How Much Do I Make From Ebay? At Present?
Work out how many hours per week that you spend conducting Ebay-related things (be truthfull here), then divide it by the average amount of profit you make in a week. If you were doing full-time hours, would you earn as much as you earn now?
#2. Do I Have a Good Job?
Consider about what you might lose if you finished your job to focus on eBay. If you are in a well-paid job with good promotion prospects then it's well worth thinking about: you may get a few years down the line and wish you'd stayed in your original job, as you'd probably be the CEO by now.
#3. Would I Really Make Much More Money?
Unless you're selling a vast quantity of small products, most of what you do on eBay will be waiting for auctions to end - and you can hang around at work just as easily as you can at home. This is why whether you would make more money on eBay really depends on what kinds of products you're marketing - for low value items, going full-time could be a better move. For high-value products, the chances are you'll hit the limits of how much money you have to invest in stock long before you hit the limits on your time.
#4. Is my Home a Good Place to Work?
Well apart from anything else, you might find that the vision of home working is more of a nightmare in reality. People can [start|begin} to depend on you to get things done that need to be done during the day. If you have a familly then they can resent the fact that you're in the house but disallow yourself to have anything to do with them for many hours of the day. Giving in to any of these things and halting work for a while will cause your profits to plummet.
#5. Can I Survive if it All Goes Bad?
In the end, would you be able to survive if you had a a couple of months where you sold literally nothing? Or would you be desperately looking around for a new job and cursing the day you ever discovered {eBay|Ebay? That's the real test.
If you made it through all these questions, then I guess you're cut out for the eBay life - and even if you didn't, you'd be surprised just how far you can get part-time.
