The UK has seen a rise in Electric, Hybrid and low emission cars
. Drivers have economy high on the agenda when going to buy new cars. With fuel prices rising and environmental concerns, people are turning to look at cars that provide better efficiency. When people go out to buy a car these days, they pay attention to not only what on the price tag, but on how much it will cost to run the car and what can be saved in the long run. Savings available on eco friendly cars are not just on fuel, you can save money on Tax, Congestion Charge and even parking permits.
Below I have done a top 10 list of Eco-Cars available in the UK. Ive put it in order of lowest CO2 emission to highest.
1)Toyota Prius T3 Hybrid 1.8VVT-i - Carbon Emission Released = 89 g/km CO2
No surprise the Toyota Prius is at the top of the list, after all it is a hybrid vehicle unlike the rest. The latest Toyota Prius is definitely more appealing than the previous models and has really caught on in the UK and around the world.
2)VW Polo Bluemotion 1.2TDI - Carbon Emission Released = 91 g/km CO2
The Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion is a small sized car; the Bluemotion technology can help the car achieve fuel economy of 70mpg!
3)Seat Ibiza ST S1.2 TDI CR Ecomotive - Carbon Emission Released = 94 g/km CO2
This is another small sized car, again as well as being eco-friendly this can gives some super fuel economy, you can get 74miles out of a gallon of diesel.
4)Vauxhall Corsa ecoFlex - Carbon Emission Released = 98 g/km CO2
Again this is another small sized vehicle that gives great fuel economy of 62.8mpg
5)Ford Fiesta Econetic - Carbon Emission Released = 98 g/km CO2
The Ford Fiesta is an extremely popular car and with its new Econetic addition will definitely be popular with an amazing fuel economy of 88.3mpg.
6)Citroen DS3 - Carbon Emission Released = 99 g/km CO2
This is the latest Citroen and its definitely the funkiest in design compared to all other on the list. When it comes to fuel economy its not as great as the rest but it is still very good with its carbon emissions.
7)Audi A3 1.6 TDI - Carbon Emission Released = 99 g/km CO2
The Audi A3 is probably the most premium car on this list. Somehow Audi have managed to engineer this model be eco-friendly as well as give 70mpg on fuel.
8)VW Golf Bluemotion - Carbon Emission Released = 99 g/km CO2
The VW Golf Bluemotion is the slightly larger option to the VW Polo Bluemotion. It shares the same excellent technology and gives great fuel economy.
9)Volvo C30 1.6D DRIVe Start Stop - Carbon Emission Released = 99 g/km CO2
The trendy Volvo C30 is another premium model on the list that gives an excellent 64mpg.
10)Ford Focus ECOnetic 1.6TCi Start Stop - Carbon Emission Released = 99 g/km CO2
This is my favourite out of the Ford Econetic range; the Focus Econetic can produce fuel economy of upto 76.3mpg.
