Many decide to walk up the hill, which grants a good opportunity for some exercise as well as some interaction with nature. The Royal Botanic Garden is yet another place to take in some nature. Admission is completely free, and this makes it a prime location in which to stop and have a picnic in the shade.
If shopping all day sounds like something you'd be interested in, head down to Princes Street. Most will agree that Princes Street is the best place to shop in Edinburgh, as it is a mile long road full of shops. One thing that makes this avenue even more impressive is the beautiful view of Edinburgh and the Castle it provides. There are a variety of places on the Street to grab some food, and an awesome place to stop for a quick lunch and rest tired feet is Princes Street Garden.
