Even after the successful therapy the fungus re-occur in about 20% to 50% of the time. However this treatment is not found so effective as nails are quite hard to have the effect of external applications. Griseofulvin Since years this drug is found effective for the nail fungus cure. However it is not so effective for the signs of toenail fungus.

Terbinafine Effective for both toenail and finger nail fungus infection, this medication is safe and effective.

Itraconazole This drug is prescribed as one week per month for two or three months continuously. However this drug can interact with some drugs like the antibiotic erythromycin or certain asthma medications.

Fluconazole This drug is prescribed as once a week for several months and the dose need to be modified if the patient has impaired kidney function.

Apart from this oral medications vinegar, olive oil, tree tea oil, turmeric, garlic, and lime juice are some of the home nail fungus remedy used for the nail fungus cure.
