So I decided to outline the website in this article as the Egyptian tattoos video does but to go into further detail as to why the website was made and what exactly can be found there. I originally was interested in ancient Egyptian culture such as the usual things; pyramids, hieroglyphics, religion, gods and their amazing economy. Of course let us not forget the theories of aliens and how they might have built the pyramids however that is not something that I personally find interesting. So I had been researching these people when I hit a topic that had barely any information and that topic was tattoos in ancient Egypt.
Did you know that the Egyptians did not really use tattoos as a form of body art or tribal marking but there was more practical uses behind them. For example tattoos would be used to replace amulets and religious jewlery because of the practicality of not having to take it off. There are also theories of it being used for medical purposes to mark certain acupuncture points on the body. There is a ton more information on the website if you want to know more.
The next thing I noticed was that there are many Egyptian tattoo designs being made these days but by using Egyptian symbols and common hieroglyphs so I created webpages with information and pictures of these with explanations and meanings.
