El Paso is a beautiful and exciting city of Texas

,which is located at the western part of the Chihuahuan Desert.The city is very close to another exciting city known as Mexico and is in close proximity to Rio Grande River.

It enjoys the status of being the county seat of El Paso County of Texas,United States.With an estimated population of around 665,055,the city ranked as the sixth-largest city of the state and twenty second largest city of the nation.

The first European settler who visited the region was Don Juan de Onate.He landed around the river Rio Grande in the year 1598.In 1680,this place became the Spanish base for the governance of the territory of New Mexico.Later on the Spaniards were grouped around the Santa Fe right from Socorro to Taos.

In 1850,El Paso County was established with San Elizario as its first county.A military post was set up in 1854 with the name The Post opposite El Paso.
