Electronic Cigarettes - The Next Best Thing

In my room, there is a poster on the wall from the movie Pulp Fiction

. The image features Mia Wallace, the main female character, sitting on some pillows in a rather provocative manner. What strikes me the most, looking at the poster, is the cigarette she holds in her right hand, from which smoke comes out. The image of a woman holding a cigarette is rather being exploited nowadays, because such postures are highly commercial. They are being seen as strong and sexy and you can always rely on these two factors to make sales; women, as well as men, are encouraged to do pictorials that involve smoking or just having a cigarette in their mouth or hand, because the female cigarette smoker is seen as the libertine, the disobedient who doesnt care about rules the cigarette gives her a sense of empowerment, giving the picture a sexy vibe too at the same time.

When we talk about men, the cigarette represents style, elegance, grace. Celebrities are people we look up to. If a certain famous celebrity is one of the first to wear something, chances are that his style will be turned into a trend and that it will be embraced by people. Seeing that celebrities somehow encourage smoking, by not speaking against it and by continuing to do photo shoots involving them, is quite alarming. They have an influential voice and they know that, therefore, they could use their power to spread positive messages, like smoking Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid instead of the deadly cigarettes. I often wondered what would have happened if the Electronic Cigarettes and the E-Liquid would have been sold earlier en masse. Pulp Fiction was released in 1994. If Electronic Cigarettes would have existed during that time, together with the E-Liquid that gives it its flavor, I ask myself if they would have made a big impact and I believe the answer would be yes, because its a product that people actually need, not just some useless junk that you throw away after a few months.

When you buy these Electronic Cigarettes, you buy the E-Liquid that you use and you just keep charging them and replacing the cartridges. Its practical, economical and very convenient. Uma Thurman could have appeared in the poster with Electronic Cigarettes in that pack, instead of actual cigarettes and with an E-Liquid cartridge, to make it more interesting and you wouldnt have noticed the difference; only the E-Liquid would have given away the nature of the Electronic Cigarette... However, its not late yet to change the way we respond to the attempts of glamorizing a problem that concerns us all.
