Born on December 2 1981 in Kentwood, Britney Spears was raised in Louisiana by his parents. Spears first began to perform as a child actor on stage and in television shows.

Britney also received worldwide attention for her much-publicized personal life. Her flings became a part of folklore. Within years she was able to earn a distinguish place for herself in popular culture and music.

Britney released her third studio album entitled Britney' in 2001. She also expanded her brand and went on to play the starring role in the film Crossroads.

Her fourth studio album called "In the Zone "was released in 2003. Some of the singles from the album like "Me against the Music", "Toxic" and "Everytime" topped sales and popularity chart worldwide.

Spears then went through a phase of personal struggle and her music sales dipped too. She took a break from the music for four years. However, her fifth album Blackout which was released in 2007 shot her to limelight again with songs like "Gimme More" and "Piece of Me".

Britney Spears, with selling of more than 100 million records of her albums worldwide, is considered one of the best-selling music artists. Recording Association of America put her on eight ranks among the American artistes with highest sale ever. Billboard ranked the 8th best Artist of the 200010 decade. Forbes has ranked her sixth among 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world.
