Are you suffering from blockages in your heart or know of someone who is then it is about time you visit an electrophysiologist
.
Heart block is a type of disease of the heart. In this case the electric system of the heart is affected. Heart block does not affect the blood vessels of the heart. People who suffer from the disease exhibit the following symptoms:
Fainting
Palpitation
Lightheadedness
Passing out
If you have been going through the symptoms mentioned then it advised to consult an electrophysiologist as soon as possible.
Heart block is also categorized into various types. They are explained below:
SA nodal blocks- The blocks which occur between the sinoatrial node is referred to as SA nodal block. In this case the SA node blocks the generation of an electric impulse which does not let the atria to contract. The SA node is not able to generate the electric impulse because it is reset by the electrical impulse which enters the SA node. Its types include the Mobitz I, Mobitz II and the SA nodal exit block.
AV nodal blocks- The blocks which take place between the atrioventricular node is referred to as AV nodal blocks. The three basic types of AV nodal blocks comprise of first, second and third degree AV block. The third degree AV nodal block results in the complete blockage of the heart.
Infra-hisian blocks- Such blokes take place below the AV node. In this type the distal conduction system of the heart is affected. The two types of Infra-Hisian block are the type II (second degree) and the left and right anterior fascicular blocks. The type II can also lead to complete heart block.
Bundle branch blocks- These occur between the left and the right bundle branches.
Hemiblocks- The blocks which take place within the fascicles of the left bundle branch is referred as the Hemiblocks.
An electrophysiologist studies the condition of the heart by following its rhythm. These professionals help in the early detection of the heart disease. It is better to consult them even if you are not showing any symptoms of heart disease at present. A regular check up of the heart with an electrophysiologist will help you to determine its condition in the long run. You will be able to understand whether it is functioning at the normal level or has any deviation occurred. All in all you can keep a check on the functioning of your heart with the help of an electrophysiologist. Do not wait for the symptoms to show up. Follow adequate precautionary measures.
