. If we don't have healthy sleep at night, it can lead to several health ailments. Enjoying a healthy, peaceful sleep at night is important for our happiness, stress reduction and to have high energy levels during the day. Our immune system can become stronger and be able to fight with diseases and germs. In order for all this to happen, we need to eliminate bad sleeping habits.

One of the most common bad sleeping habit in today's world is to stay up late at night. Our ancestors used to sleep quickly at night. They didn't live in a developed world and didn't have electricity to light up their homes at night. So they had little option other than retiring to bed early. This proved very beneficial to their health.

Going to sleep early at night has many advantages. It is good for your body's metabolism rate. If you sleep late, you are unlikely to get restful and peaceful sleep. This can affect your performance during the day. You will find it hard to concentrate and make complex decisions during the day. You will face difficulty in dealing with stressful situations and will not be able to think clearly. You will feel lazy, get irritated easily and have mood swings.

If you sleep early, you are likely get up early as well. Rising early again has many advantages. When you wake up early in the morning, you can utilize that time to get some fresh air and exercise. You will feel bright and will be in a pleasant mood. You can get some important work done in the quiet, undisturbed atmosphere of early mornings. You don't have to rush to get things done as you can take your own sweet time in getting ready for work.


So, just try and eliminate one bad sleeping habit and see how much difference it can make in your life. Go to bed early and get up early. Avoid caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea and sodas during the evenings. These might be a cause of keeping you awake for a long time in bed. Avoid watching television before bedtime. Your mind may dwell on the programs you watch on TV long after you have stopped watching. So you might struggle to sleep.

Don't discuss or read about things that make you excited or angry just before you go to bed. Otherwise you may find it difficult to get those things out of your mind. You will think about such things even while lying in bed, making it difficult to sleep.
