Wasp stings hurt like heck! Don't let wasps ruin your summer. It is simple andinexpensive
to rid youroutdoor living area from wasps and hornets, keeping you and your family safe from stinging wasps. You can easily eliminate wasps by following these 4 easy steps:
Find the hive by watching wasp flight patterns. Wasps are very active during the day, and it is usually easy to see where they are headed.
Treat the hive with a wasp or hornet spray. Be sure to do this at night or very early in the morning. Wasps are less active at this time and the majority of the hive members are likely to be in the hive. The added benefit? You have much less chance of being stung than in the daytime.
You may have to treat the wasp hive a few times over successive days. You can then remove the hive if you wish, or leave it up; wasps are territorial and more wasps are unlikely to build in an area they believe to be inhabited by another hive.
Don't attract more wasps: keep food and drinks properly covered, empty garbage cans frequently, and keep garbage can lids tightly in place.
If you enjoy eating outside and having barbeque or picnic, place non-toxic wasp traps around your yard or porch area. Many traps are inexpensive and widely available such as the Fatal Funnel Trap. You can also make your own wasp traps by using an empty 2-liter bottle partially-filled with fruit juice and bits of meat.
