Emergency Courier Services Explained

Emergency courier services are a specialized type of courier service which is very important to many different types of courier clients

. An Emergency Courier Service may be a standalone service which only provides service to emergency clients, or it may be one part of a larger company like a regular Chicago courier service. In either case, the services offered will be the same, and the emergency division of a larger courier company will be set up just like a standalone emergency courier.

Emergency courier services are set up to respond in the quickest time possible to any requests which come in. They have a fleet of vehicles which are on standby at all times. This is different from other types of courier companies, who will usually have their drivers in the field, and then dispatch them to make pickups as they come in. Emergency couriers on the other hand, will have vehicles which are not currently committed to jobs ready at all times. That way, they can respond quicker and make pickups in less time than traditional couriers.

Emergency courier services will be available using all types of vehicles that are used to make regular deliveries. They should be able to respond to all of the same types of delivery requests that are made to normal courier companies. This means that they will have cars and vans available, but also large trucks for making larger scale emergency deliveries. Air delivery is also used by emergency courier services.

In particular, helicopters are often used to complete the air legs of emergency deliveries. Some of these companies are large enough that they include helicopters in their own immediate fleet. Others instead will subcontract out their helicopter shipments to separate helicopter companies. Either way, the use of helicopters allows these companies to respond to emergency deliveries much more quickly, and with much more flexibility than would be provided if they only used airlines for air shipping.

Business clients use emergency courier services every day, but there is also another subset to this industry. This is the medical emergency delivery side. There are emergency couriers who are also medical couriers, and medical couriers that have emergency divisions. These are the companies that would carry high priority medical cargo such as organs which need to be moved STAT for a transplant operation. Helicopters are used especially often in this type of delivery, which is why larger hospitals have helicopter landing facilities.
