Emmanuel Church of Lafayette, Louisiana is one church that believes in the healing and delivering power of God and frequently has healings and miracles occur in their services. Why? It is simple: They believe that Jesus can do exactly what he said he could but not only that, but they also believe that Jesus died and took stripes upon His back for the healing of mankind.

Second Peter 2:24 says that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. He took our suffering upon Himself so that we wouldn't have to suffer. If Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sickness, then they are not ours anymore. He took them. Yet for some reason we want to hold on to sickness.

When you ask someone if God can heal, most will say He can if it is His will. Let's be logical here. If you don't know if God wants you well or not, then why would you go to a doctor to get well and risk getting out of the will of God. We always want to take some type of middle ground on these issues but the facts remain that Jesus was always willing to heal even when asked.

The woman with the issue of blood believed so strongly that Jesus could heal her that she risked her life by coming out of her home with a terrible sickness which in those days was forbidden and could have cost her her life. However, her risk paid off as she pressed her weakened body through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus' garment and she received her healing.

Jesus was being touched by many, yet this woman's faith pulled on His power and got her the result she was looking for. Jesus spoke to her telling her that her faith had made her whole.

Can He do it? Yes, He absolutely can. He can drive out the absolute worst of sickness and disease including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, lupas, and the list goes on.

Why would He heal you? Simple; He is good and he loves you. If you are sick today, reach out in faith and He will reach down in power and touch your broken body.
