The practice of taking written, oral and other types of tests for checking the suitability or desirability of an employee is known as employee testing

. It is economically useful for the employer to select candidates based up on scores obtained by employee from series of tests conducted on him.

There are different types of tests can be conducted on job seekers while recruitment process. Some widely known and taken tests are personality tests, intelligence or logical tests, job skills tests, and judgment tests.

Personality test:

Using this test, employer can measure, how and what employee thinks, feels, and behaves. Generally test being taken to check level of drive of candidate.

Intelligence or Logical test:

Employers are used to estimate employee intellectual abilities and thinking ability for particular situation or tasks which are measured using this kind of tests.

Skill test:

This test is required in such cases when recruited employees needed to have specific knowledge or technical sound knowledge in specific area which is only acquired by experience or training in or of particular skills. Computer programming, law, and financial management are such fields which are totally dependent on this kind of tests during recruitment process.

Judgment test:

This kind of test is generally used to test the success of employee during his or her past pr current employment. Test comprises of multiple choice format and questions are based on realistic scenarios and find out what he or she do during specific situation. Generally answers are marked on the bases of the level of effectiveness instead of right or wrong.

In short, employee testing is very critical task for any organization or company which required certain amount of test performed on candidates to choose right for a position. Cross checking employee's past employment is also one of the tasks related to employee testing.
