Once the local endodontic dentist is sure that the cleaning of the area is complete and there is no more dental decay or infection left in the pulp area, the endodontic dentist will then fill the hole with a rubber-type dental material to prevent any more decay or infection filling the hole left in the pulp area. Usually a local endodontic dentist will then put a cap over the tooth to replace the enamel area that the local endodontic dentist had to drill away to get to the pulp area of the tooth.
