Engine Types
Gottlieb Daimler is the oldest man on earth who builds first truck in 1896
. In travel trailer or in any vehicle Engine is the vital and most important part and in market there is a variety of engines are available, but they will either work on petrol and diesel.
Petrol Engine
Developed in Europe in 1876 is an internal combustion engine which runs on gasoline and similar volatile fuels. In petrol engine fuel and air is mixed in the carburetor before the compression. It provides self ignites. Petrol burns faster than diesel and has a lighter piston along with connecting rods and crankshaft which make a petrol engine to provide high-speed as compared to any engine. They work on four stroke and two stroke cycle;
Diesel Engine
Internal combustion engine in one, which uses the heat of compression - to initiate the ignition - which burn the fuel, into the combustion chamber. It is developed by Rudolf Diesel in the 1893 as compared to petrol engine which uses spark plug. It has a very high compression ratio due to which it provides high thermal efficiency of any regular internal and external combustion.
In 2010 Scania Abs V8 provides the highest power and torque calculation of any traveler engine having - 3,500 Nm (2,581 ft-lb) and 730 HP (544 kW)
Two stroke Engine
It is the type of internal combustion engine having one crankshaft revolution with two strokes to provide a complete power cycle. It has slow speed due to high power-t0-weight ratio. In 1881 Dugald clerk patented the first two stock engines.
Four stroke Engine
In this piston complete four detach stocks - include - Intake, Compression, Power and Exhaust during two separate revolutions of the crankshaft.
Nikolaus August Otto in Cologne was the first man who discovered Otto Cycle in 1876 on the principle described by Alphonse Beau de Rochas in 1861. Now to overcome problems in this engine, in 1893 by Rudolph invented another Diesel engine. In today's lifestyle Internal Combustion Engine is used for both kinetic and electrical generation.
Now with technological advancement in today's life - turbo engine is gaining popularity because they produce more power due to the turbine forces more intake air, proportionately more fuel, into the combustion chamber, then if atmospheric pressure alone is analyzed.
Supercharges are driven mechanically because they used belts, crank, shaft and gears for power, but a turbocharger uses the kinetic energy of the exhaust gases to drive the compressor. In today's lifestyle another system of engines known as Twin charger, which is the compound forced induction system used on the piston-type internal combustion engines.
So think how important is the engine is as it provides unique power to your travel trailer and it in on you to maintain it by providing proper service from time to time. If you care your engine your travel trailer, then it will care you.
