English Bulldog Training To Stop Pulling

Does your English bulldog walk on the leash nicely? If he doesn't, then it's a serious matter to think of. Often times, the pulling behavior of your bulldog becomes annoying and hard to reprimand. As they are quite stubborn in nature, it's hard to train them but there are some techniques you can use to stop them from pulling.

The most important factor you should remember is never letting your bulldog to be dominant. If you let him to do whatever he likes, then you will never be able to train your dog perfectly. With the feeling of dominance, he will become more stubborn. But you have to keep patience and show your dog that you are not willing to give up so easily. Finally, with enough drilling through your Bulldog's skull, he will understand what exactly you want him to do.

Just keep in mind that you are the one who is taking your dog for a walk, not your bulldog taking you for it. Don't use harness to leash your bulldog as they are mighty strong and that may not work effectively in their case. Instead use a collar and a short lead to make them walk. Collars like martingale seem to be more effective as it tightens only when your bulldog pulls on the leash.

Each time he pulls on the leash, stop him at once. Place your leg and stop him from walking forward until he learns something from that too. If you do this consistently, then your bulldog will also realize that pulling is bad. Eventually, he will stop his pulling behavior if you encourage him by providing treats for his good behaviors.

One more effective way to solve out the problem of pulling is by changing the directions every time he pulls on the leash. This will convey a message to your bulldog that pulling won't take him where he wants to. English bulldog training for walking on the leash is also very important to make him obedient and submissive.
