Andaluca, a small part of Spain, is a territory famous for its high temperatures and the hot climate. These are the reasons why most of its land became sand; Almeria, a coast in Andaluca, seems to be a small part of a desert. Although it had some problems in the past because of earthquakes, Almeria is now a great holiday destination, it is relaxing and amazing. With beautiful landscapes, it is visited by many tourists every year.

The Old Town and its historical monuments

As many people are attracted by old things, the Old Town in Almeria is its main attraction. Represented by Rambla de Belen, the old town includes many historical monuments. A large number of cathedrals, fortifications and mosques dominate the area. In the most important cathedral over here, dating since the 16th century, you can admire many beautiful paintings and even Murillos famous painting, The Immaculate conception. In the northern part of the cathedral you will find a monument dedicated to the Spanish liberals and in the eastern part of it is the oldest house in Almeria, Casa de los Puche. The Santiago church over here and the Olive Oil Museum are two of the other important attractions of this old part of Almeria - pay attention to details and admire them as they all have many centuries that have worked upon them.

Alcazaba and its beauties

Alcazaba is the other attraction worth mentioning in Almeria. This place is very famous and popular for the Moorish details, including the characteristics of Moorish architecture. The Tower of Homage and the Gunpower Tower are two other very important monuments that should be visited. They offer a beautiful panorama and the two towers have been declared historical monuments.

Nightlife in Almeria

This part of Spain is famous for its nightclubs and restaurants. In the neighbourhood of Paseo de Almeria you can taste the famous Spanish tapas in the tapas bars ; if you are not a fan of them, try other local specialities such as Escabeche e Sardines or Trigo.
