Venture away from the tourist hot spots and find yourself an eatery which caters to the Thai people. Here you can savor the flavors of indigenous Thai food uninfluenced by Western tastes.

Be sure to catch a performance of traditional Thai dance dramas. There are many varieties of these but all of them have spiritual origins. Khon is perhaps, the most traditional form but there are many dance troupes, interpreting and modernizing Khon and Lakhon (another traditional dance form) at dance festivals. Short devotional performances can be seen at the Erawan shrine by its own dancers. Step off the tourist rut and lazily explore a new and disparate Bangkok.
