Visitors should also make time to visit La Jollas Birch Aquarium for its displays of oceanography, fish aquarium and a huge kelp tank.

There are many lighthouses in the city, but the most popular is the Point Loma Lighthouse. The view is amazing from Point Loma, as visitors can see the Naval Air Station, Coronado Bridge, mountains and downtown San Diego. The lighthouse too offers panoramic view of the Pacific and some islands that are off the coast of the city.

Be sure to visit the downtown, as this where visitors will find shopping venues, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. Even the citys Maritime Museum and the USS Midway Museum are located here. Both museums are worth visiting for their displays and exhibits.

Golf lovers will love this laid back city, as it has several golf courses. There are private as well as public golf courses to suit all budgets. La Jollas Torrey Pines Golf Course hosts the PGA Tour Buick Invitational every year either in January or February.
