1. First you need to fill the base of hookah with water such that water level is nearly one inch above the bottom of the hookah stem
2. Place the flavoured tobacco into the bowl, cover it in a foil.
3. It is also important to pierce the foil with a pin or any sharp pointed object like a toothpick
4. Ignite the coals and wait until they start fizzing. Then, you need to place the coals on the foil
5. The hookah is now ready to smoke and enjoy
After you are done with your hookah smoking session, it is also very important to wash the glass base of the hookah and the clay bowl. Otherwise, the residue stuff may get stuck there and can throw nightmares while attempting to clean at a later stage. For improving the flavour of hookah you should take care of the following things:
* Holes made in the foil should be as small as possible.
* Bowl should not be over stuffed with tobacco; it should be nearly 1 cm below the rim of the bowl
* Do not compress the tobacco
* Cold water improve the taste of smoke to a good extent as well
