Enjoy Your Night Out By Being Safe
You would never guess just by looking at me, but one of my favorite things to do
is get down in local nightclubs because I love to dance! Hip-hop, '80's--you name it, and I will probably try to dance to it! Plus, there is the whole process of getting ready for a night like that which thrills almost every girl that similarly loves the experience.
But not everyone who steps through that nightclub door has intentions as pure as yours. Effective bouncers will ward off the obvious troublemakers; however, you need to take responsibility for your own well-being, even when there isn't an obvious threat.
Trouble can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and much of it will brew after you have left the club. There are also problems that can arise that are totally unrelated to other people. So let me give you some tips to help you and your friends have the best time possible.
When you are making plans for a night out on the town, select clubs that have a good reputation and have plenty of safety precautions, including unchained exits, bouncers, and so on.
Never go to or leave the nightclub by yourself--and that doesn't mean it's savvy to leave with a stranger, either. That means you need to go with friends you can trust to call it a night when one member of the group makes such a request. This might come when one of you is feeling sick or threatened by another individual.
To make this possible, everyone needs to keep track of all entrances and exits at the club. You should all make a note of them together when you get in. You should also decide where you will meet if you are somehow split up during the course of the evening.
Try to make prior arrangements for reliable transportation. If you plan to take the bus home, then plot out the route you must take beforehand. If you are going to take a cab, then find out how much the fare will be and keep that amount on your person, not in your purse or wallet.
I don't drink at all when I go to nightclubs, as I always want to keep a clear head, but if you are going to, then knowing about transportation beforehand is going to keep you safer as you make your way home.
If you are faced with an individual that is being too aggressive in pursuing you, be direct but not unkind. Getting hostile with such a person may result in more aggression. If you can, shake the person off and alert club management or a bouncer to the situation.
