Once oil has been formed, and discovered by firms or nations, the next step would be to identify its approximate quantity and quality among other things before the drilling, which is basically extracting crude oil by drilling through the cap rock
The singular reason why oil is so important to our world is that almost the whole worlds activities runs on this precious gift embedded by God in the mother earth. There is hardly any new product to be made that will not require oil as raw material or for finishing.
