The 720MHz processor can comfortably handle big applications while the phone is well connected to handle all of your online activities.

Sony Ericsson have kept the basic design of the original Vivaz and thrown in a slide out keyboard to give it the name "Pro". The Vivaz Pro, which is available in either white or black, has been designed for the message hungry crowd and it is also suited to business users as it can handle Exchange Mail and has a Document viewer. A 3.2 inch resistive touch screen allows you to navigate the Symbian S60 interface while the screen also has a built in accelerometer for interface rotation and it can recognise handwriting for a well rounded message composing experience.

As standard the Vivaz Pro will contentedly handle a number of messaging formats which not only include SMS and MMS but various forms of e-mail and IM clients too, with all the big names from Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft Windows being compatible. Though the general build quality of the keyboard is not entirely great, it still does a fine job of supporting the user when composing long messages and e-mails.

With 2G and 3G network coverage combined with Wi Fi the Vivaz Pro can connect t the internet with ease, the device also utilises EDGE/GPRS to connect to cellular networks. The web browser is fully functional in the best possible way when you consider that you are working with resistive technology. The in-browser controls are intuitive while bookmarks can be saved. Social networking is key feature on this phone and with dedicated applications for Twitter, MySpace and Facebook it is clear that Sony Ericsson take this area seriously.

Sony Ericsson has ensured that the Vivaz Pro is multimedia friendly; they have thrown in some sharing facilities which incorporate social networks and YouTube into the sharing experience. The 5MP camera will take decent still imagery with the help of AF and LED flash while video can be captured at roughly 24fps in gorgeous High Definition 720p quality. The video player is quite capable of playing back multiple formats and the delivery of over 16M colours on the 360 x 640 pixels display does them justice.

Music can be added to the Vivaz Pro via microUSB, Bluetooth or download and multiple file types can be handled. The player has an FM radio tuner and a 3.5mm audio jack for use of headphones. The phone has a microSD slot for memory upgrades up to 16GB but I am sure the 8GB card you get will provide enough storage space. A-GPS supports the phones Google Maps application.

Sony Ericsson have not grossly overpriced the Vivaz Pro, nor have they gone out of there way to overthrow any competitors. The phone is what it is and provides a very good and very simple user experience. It looks good, the sound quality is good, and the sheer amount of options you are given for messaging is brilliant. Social networking works fine along with any other online duties you need to perform. Sony Ericsson has made a good phone (Vivaz) great by adding the keyboard.
