Equivalent Weight Calculations

In math, the equivalent weight of any two expressions can be calculated

. The term equivalence is said to be a condition when the two values of a given equation have same value. It is used to produce or calculate the equal values. Here, the equivalent weight has to be calculated. The equivalent weights are always calculated with some values of weights. The weight of any object is calculated and represented in grams or kilograms.

Unit of Mass to Calculate the Equivalent Weight:

The unit of mass is used to represent weight. We see some units of mass as,

Ounce

Pounds

Grams

Kilograms

Ton

These are various terms of units used to represent the weight.

Some equivalent values of unit of mass are given here.

One gram = 0.03527396 ounce

One pound = 453. 592 grams

One ton = 907184 grams

One kilogram = 1000 grams

One ounce = 0.0625 pounds

By using these values of mass, we can calculate the equivalent weight.

We can solve problems for the equivalent weight calculations.

Examples for Equivalent Weight Calculations:

Some examples for calculating the equivalent weight based on the units are solved here.

Example 1:

What is the equivalent value of 4 pounds in grams?

Solution:

To find the equivalent value of given unit, we have to know the value of one pound.

We know that, one pound = 453.592 grams

Now multiply 453.592 into 4, so that we can get the equivalent value of 4 pounds as 1814.3695 grams.

Therefore the equivalent value of 4 pounds is 1814.3695 in grams.

Example 2:

What is the equivalent value of 3 tons in kilograms?

Solution:

To find the equivalent value of given unit, we have to know the value of one ton

We know that, one ton = 907.18474 kilograms

Now multiply 907.18474 kilograms into 3, so that we can get the equivalent value of three tons as kilograms.

Therefore the equivalent value of 3 tons is 2721.5542 in kilograms.

Thus these are about equivalent weight calculations.

There are three hypotheses which are hypothesis of right angles, hypothesis of obtuse angles and hypothesis of acute angles. The first hypothesis is called as playfairs axiom which is equivalent version of Euclids fifth postulate. The second hypothesis states that a piece of straight line can be extended. The hypothesis of acute angle is extremely false because the acute angles are repulsive to the straight line. In this article we will see about the equivalent versions of Euclids fifth postulates.

Equivalent Versions of Euclid's Fifth Postulate - List of Postulates

The Euclids fifth postulates show that Euclid used the five postulates which are given below to derive the planar geometry.

1) The first postulate states that a straight line can be drawn in-between any of the two points.

2) The second postulate states that a piece of straight line can be stretched indefinitely

3) The third postulate states that a circle can be drawn when the radius and the arbitrary center is given.

4) The fourth postulate states that all the right angles are found to be equal.

5) The fifth postulate states that if a straight line which crosses the two straight line forms the internal angles on the same side smaller than two right angles, then according to the second postulate, the two straight lines can be extended indefinitely, meet on that side which are the angles less than the two right angles.

Euclids parallel postulate:

The equivalent versions of the Euclids fifth postulates states that if a straight line crosses the two straight lines making the alternate angles equal to one another, then the straight lines will also be made parallel to one another.

The equivalent converse version of the Euclids fifth postulates states that the two angles which are taken mutually are smaller than that of the two right angles in any triangle considered.

Equivalent Versions of Euclids Fifth Postulates - Conclusion

The equivalent versions of Euclids fifth postulates are listed below.

There is no specific upper limit that has been considered to the area of the triangle.

We can draw a circle which passes through the three collinear points provided that the points are given.

The straight line which is parallel to the straight line is parallel to each other.

When the two straight lines intersect one another then it cannot be parallel to the third one.
