Era Ends With The Release Of Sql Server 2012
Business Intelligence Software is running across varied organizations in the world
. It has undoubtedly won the hearts of experts and users with its performance, features and results. Here in this article we talk of the very new release of SQL Server by Microsoft. This 2012 edition is shipped with lots of new improvements, enhancements, extended capabilities, visualization components and still more. Experts say the SQL Server 2012 will end the era and this one is meant to support the OLE-DB API for out of the box BI solutions.
The planning of MS is to deprecate OLE-DB in favour of ODBC while it is the last move taken with this release for this support. Through this release experts and users both are facilitated with numerous opportunities that will allow them to port any present OLE-DB based app over to ODBC. Earlier the company thought it was an extended capability to get into with the limited standard - ODBC. From late 90's MS was firm on its decision of not coming out with the ODBC driver and then was focused towards shifting the OLE-DB. This is just to show how the things are totally changed from the early ones.
Considering OLE-DB vs. ODBC it did not showcase more extensions, embracement or extinguishes but now it's an ironic release by MS. The part which was put aside by MS and so never did anybody ever predict of this favour. Not only OLE-DB is renowned API but also has rich features and supports data sources. The ODBC interface is much or procedural which was initially used for getting relational or structured data. OLE-DB is a component based thing that is useful for all kinds of data.
MS strongly forced BI developers and other experts to use OLE-DB so they could better connect to relational and other data sources where OLE-DB has more codes. Now in Offshore Business Intelligence Software Companies, BI developers state that it is popular as well as an enabling technology that is bought to us from the year 1998. Earlier it was mentioned in the industry as SQL server OLAP Services where the code name given was "Plato". This was definitely based on OLAP technology which is today a de facto standard to get multi-dimensional data on Windows. The new favour of OLE-DB for ODBC is of course not going to affect this standard of ODBO.
All these are MS-centric technologies and when used on Windows it works with improved performance and serves as substitute to XML/A. ODBC has earned universal standard's place that can access relational data and can access into the cloud too. With the help of SQL Azure MS fully aligns with ODBC that allows supporting client apps to connect from any platform to the cloud. More reasons that keep experts to adapt ODBC are due to its cross-platform support and easy programming capability.
BI solutions are going to be better with the 2012 SQL server's existence. Most companies and organizations are facing huge data problems wherein they require accurate reports, easy sharing & accessing and real time benefit for best performance. Business Intelligence Software with MS's new efforts and inventions are getting better BI solutions. Also MS has till now offered BI developers with endless opportunities where they can come out with best Business Intelligence with even complex issues.
