From now on, the train-travelers would be able to get all details of IR services from seat availability, train ticket booking / cancelation, train running information to PNR Status instantly. It is possible now for them to become an authorized member of Indian Railways and get benefits of it.
The railway in India is an integral department which is undertaking of the Government of India. The Ministry of Railways manages the worlds second-largest utility employer with 1.36 employees. This public transport enterprise carries over 30 million passengers and overhaul about 2.8 million tons of freight daily. The public sector transporter is now operating its erail service for the convenience of its passengers.

Before you get benefit of erail, there is a need to get registered on to IRCTC Login first. Its registration is absolutely free. A user enters his/her name and password. At the left hand side, there the Plan My Travel appears. For booking, originating in the From section and in the To terminating station are entered. Then travel date is selected. Select e-ticket option, followed by Quota, if any.
Finally, the Find Trains option is clicked which brings the list of trains running between the destinations you need to travel in. in order to check seat availability in the choice of your train and click to book tickets to class (SL (Sleeper), 3A/C, 2A/C and 1A/C). But if you need other train, click on to Reset button. The Erail service users need to have their ID (Identity) Card. Check out what documents are demanded as for the passenger ID proof. If you fail to carry one, the ticket checking staff will charge you Rs.50/- for per ticket.
There is a multi-payment option for booking e-tickets. Passengers reserving train tickets can make payment through Master/Visa Card. (HDFC, ICICI, AXIS, SBI, KVB, Citi Bank, etc. Several other leading public as well as private banks have also been included in the erail payment list.
Considerably, the erail users can also cancel their booked train tickets online. They need to click the Booked Tickets option and selection the passenger to be cancelled. Remember that e-ticket can not be cancelled after chart preparation. Also, no refund is granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets.
However, there is full refund permissible in case a train is marked as Cancelled due to any natural calamity.
